November 3, 2014

Well, this has been quite the week. Before I get into fun stuff, I have two stories I have to share:
The other day we were walking home from a cita and saw this guy peeing on the side of the road next to our house. As if that wasn't awkward enough, I totally made eye contact with him, so it was pretty much the most awkward thing I've ever experienced. Sorry, it's a dumb story but I felt the need to share.
My other experience happened this past Thursday. We had a ward activity and Elder Thompson and I were walking around inviting people. We went to invite this young couple we've been visiting named Edson and Lis and on the way to their house a dog bit me. It didn't actually get me, but it tore some pretty big holes in my pant leg, so I'm going to see if the sister who does our laundry can sew them. As if that wasn't bad enough, when we got to Edson and Lis's house, Edson was drunk off his butt, to the point where he didn't even realize we were trying to talk to him. That was really disappointing, I don't know what we're going to do about that.
This week's been kinda weird. They don't really celebrate Halloween here, but they do Day of The Dead and it was huge. It lasted Saturday and Sunday, and it was hard to try and find people to teach because everybody was traveling or up in the cemetery all weekend. They even ended church right after Sacrament meeting so people could go up to the cemetery. That was super weird.
Other than that I feel like we had a really good week. President's challenged us to talk to every family we see on the street, and on saturday Elder Thompson and I got to teach one of the families we contacted. That was a really cool experience, and they seemed really interested in our message. Crossing my fingers that everything works out well with them, they'd be great members.
I remembered to write down the address if anybody wants to send packages or mail
Mision Peru Cusco
Av. La Cultura 2417
La Capilla Mormona
Cusco, Peru
Also I'm hoping to have a lot of pictures next week. President told us we can use drop box to store our pictures so I'm hoping to have that up and going by next week. In the meantime, I do have these pictures of myself with the latinos in the CCM and the view from our apartment.
Also for those of you who were asking, Elder Thompson's first name is Adam.
